WHAT IS A DOULA?
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
WHY DO YOU NEED A DOULA?
Studies have shown that doulas can help cut back on time spent in labor, reduce a mom’s anxiety, lower the rate of medical interventions (including Caesarean) and improve mother-baby bonding post-birth. A Doula assistance has even been shown to improve your odds of breastfeeding success, since many doula are certified in breastfeeding education. A doula may be especially helpful for a mom-to-be who's on her own, either by choice or because her partner can't be present (for reasons such as military deployment).
How Our Support Works
One on One Consultation
We focus on your wishes during your laboring journey. We will work together to write out points you would like to have within your birth plan. This way as your doula I can help support you and your partner's decisions on how your birthing experience would be and develop a strategy on how to process challenges that may arise. Unlimited Phone/Email/ Text Support
Having special occasions or concerns come up and need someone to express those thoughts and feelings well I am here to assist! Yes, I will be able to answer questions and concerns with research and knowledge as your time comes closer to your due date.
Unlimited Labor Support
The time is here!! Yes! I will be in the labor room with you! I will ignite the room with good vibrations of emotional support during your birthing experience.
At Home Visit
Once you have settled in back home I will come to do a visit to check your well-being and the baby to make sure that breastfeeding satisfying? Answer questions or concerns about anything that has occurred since being home.
